Forty-five minutes from the villas, a reservoir set in a forest of laricio pines. A shaded circular walk (1 hour 30), and welcome cool in summer. Quiet, and very photogenic.
Thirty-five minutes away, natural emerald pools and a shaded path along the stream. Our escape on the hottest days. Closed shoes advised, the rocks are slippery.
A prehistoric site near Sartène (55 min). An alignment of statue-menhirs 4,000 years old, in pastoral surroundings. Free and open access — not to be missed if you like history.
In July and August the harbour at Porto-Vecchio comes alive at night: craftspeople, local producers, music, a festive mood. A fine way to end a day on the beach.
